Log cabin design house on the lake - Crevedia

Very modern log cabin design house - with amazing two floor windows - on two sides. It was custom designed to Western specifications by US landlord who wanted to feel like they were back at home living on the American west coast.

The living room is open- two floors - and it has a balcony upstairs that overlooks the living room and the lake. There are two bedrooms, a sun room, as well as a loft open room that overlooks the living room. There are two large bathrooms - one with a jacuzzi tub. The floors are hardwood. There is a ceramic fireplace in the living room that is capable of warming the whole living room. Otherwise, it is a lovely, and relatively economical (heat pump system) electric heat - through a radiator system. The front of the house has an amazing log covered deck - that overlooks the lake. In the summers it becomes the space to be in - there are no mosquitoes, and it is shaded, so it is a joy to be outside. You can fish or kayak on the lake. Even when it is in the high 30`s in the city - it is a comfortable temperature at the house - both inside and outside. The windows have screens, and the air flow is wonderful. You do not need air conditioning but there is a air conditioner in the bedroom for hot nights. There is also a covered deck in the back, and a deck off the main bedroom upstairs. It is a house made for enjoying the outdoors. Even when you are inside you feel like you are outside - the sun rises at the front of the house, and the side of the house, which also has two floor windows, is southern exposure - but the heat heads more to the back -so it is always comfortable in the house - if you like bright and cheery this is the house for you! Oh and the stars and the moon on the lake are a sight to see. Sitting on the couch you can see all the planes landing at the airport - but they are far enough away that there is no sound problem - just a cool sight to watch especially in the evening.

Furnishings
The house is for rent furnished. The fridge and stove are high end, and they are stainless steel. The stove has five burners and has a rotisserie etc. There is also a new (clothes) washing machine and (clothes) dryer included - and the laundry room has space for drying clothes on a rack. There is wicker furniture for outside enjoyment.

Security
The house has a security system. You use a code to arm and disarm it. It has motion detectors for inside - you can set in the evening when you go to bed. The neighborhood is new and safe - there are many beautiful homes near. There are four outside lights in the front that work on a timer. If you happen to come home after dark - the lights will be on - no need to shut them off in the morning - when the sun rises they shut off. As well, there is a streetlight just outside the house.

Distance from the American School and downtown
The drive to AISB was pleasant - it only takes approximately 30 minutes to Pipera, and it takes 30-40 minutes to drive right downtown. The roads are good and the traffic is so much better than trying to get in town from Pipera. The road passes directly by the ring road

There is also the option of going through Corbeanca - which is especially good if you want to get to the airport - it is only about 20-25 minutes to the airport from the house.
