This tree-lined neighborhood is very popular with the diplomatic community and is a grand old dame of a neighborhood with gorgeous villas from the 1930`s and 40`s, many of which are finally getting the attention they deserve on restoration. The neighborhood borders KiseleffPark to the west and FlorescaPark in the north-east and HerastrauPark isn`t very far away so plenty of options for stretching your legs, doing some morning jogging or having a nice weekend picnic. The neighborhood also offers the Piatza Dorobanti for shopping, lunches and people watching. We have some lovely villas in this neighborhood, but they are quite dear starting at 4,000 Euros and going north on price quickly. Not a lot of options for modern apartment living, but we have some and prices for an expat standard flat with two bedrooms will probably be around 2,000 Euros, with a beautiful, modern penthouse of three + bedrooms probably between 3,500 the 4,500+ Euros. There are also some cheaper communist blocks in the neighborhood, but we don`t suggest these because the rooms tend to be very small (12 - 15 square meters) and the finishing`s are what you would probably expect from a communist era interior design. Overall, if you can afford Dorobanti in-style, it really is perfect for expat living.
